The Schengen Multifunctional Training Center, as the beneficiary, is implementing the project “Installation of new renewable energy production capacities at the two locations of the Schengen Multifunctional Training Center, in Buzău Municipality, Dimitrie Filipescu Street no. 4, Buzău County, and in Ploiești Municipality, București Boulevard no. 30, Prahova County”, financed through the Modernization Fund, Key Program 1: Renewable energy sources and energy storage.
The project has a total budget of 1,510,189.70 lei (VAT included), the maximum value provided from the Modernization Fund, representing 100% community contribution.

The project completion date is 30.11.2026.

The general objective of the project is to increase electricity production from solar renewable sources by installing two new renewable energy production capacities of 0.300 MW combined for both locations, which will fully or largely cover the electricity consumption needs of the existing facilities.

The main activity of the project consists in building two three-phase photovoltaic power plants, one at the headquarters in Buzău, Dimitrie Filipescu Street no. 4, Buzău County, with an installed capacity of approx. 149.6 KW, and the second at the headquarters in Ploiești, București Boulevard no. 30, Prahova County, with an installed capacity of approx. 150.7 KW, which will partially cover the electricity consumption needs of the CMPS.

• Average production of renewable energy – 398.37 MWh/year;
• Capacity factor of the power plant – 15.14%;
• Total renewable energy production for the reference period – 7,446.00 MWh;
• Reduction of greenhouse gases: estimated annual decrease of greenhouse gases – 183.54 CO2 equivalent tons/year.
